Visual Music
- Widerschein des Lichtes (2007)
The title of this composition, Ashen Light, is based on cosmic radiations, the reflection of earth ́s light to the moon observed from the earth. Cosmic rays and grains with reflections and rotations in space symbolise this idea.
The sound material is derived from the Tibetian gong and male singing voices (Tibetian Buddhist chants and boys’ voices). This sound material was synthesized by cross synthesis and granular synthesis. The unique singing phrase used means „und die Sonne“ (and the sun).
- Sphärenklänge (2008)
Two sounds which have different duration, sound energy and spectra are mainly processed by various methods of cross synthesis. One sound material is the early European polyphonic vocal music composed by Two sounds which have different duration, sound energy and spectra are mainly processed by various methods of cross synthesis. One sound material is the early European polyphonic vocal music composed by Machaut, and the another sound material is a single tone of small Japanese bell Furin. A polyphonic structure and a complex bell sound which has a long decay:- these two different characters of sounds are merged together in a context of electroacoustic music which has a rich spatial character.
The spatial character has been explored in the visualisation part: – the deep of space, the speed of movements, and the variation of colors by filtering. The different image processes similar to sound processes create a close relation between music and images, a new focus of synaesthetic perception, that we call Visual Music

- Windgesang
A monotonous melody with an arabian-like character is surrounded with the noise of wind. The kinetic energy of wind has been visualized as fast transformations of shape, the speed with sudden changes of directions and modulations of colors. The evolution produces a continuous character by interpolation.
- Windspiel
The wind´s play is an abstract digital audiovisual composition.
The structure based on lines which construct circles or segments of circles. The most important transformations were produced by compression or stretching. Fast rotations with changes of directions and colors produce an energetic characteristics of this geometric figure.
The noise of bamboo modified by filtering supports the visual part.
- Tambligan
Tamblingan has originally been inspired during a walk in Bali. Various colors of reflections of sunray on the lake overwhelmed my eyesight whereas sounds and noises multi-layered came from the rainforest overwhelmed my ears. What fascinated me was a spatial complexity of sounds where it came from. In this piece vibrations of lights and sounds structure an inner-relationship between the both visual and sound through granulation.
- SAI
SAI (Japanese) means color, color-combination, patterns or moving patterns produced by colors, colors of light and brightness. The music is based on the steelcan of which sound has been decomposed in harmonic, transient and noise components.
- Sandwhirl
The visual part follows an Evolution process produced by sine waves which is accompanied by quick changes in Gestalt, color and light.
The sound material based on bells is processed by granulation: duration of grains, transposition, speed, direction (for- and backwards and jumping).
